I am offering a 10 class course titled: Movement Culture, it is an open level hybrid training class exploring my interests in dance, martial arts, body weather laboratory and yoga. The first class will start this Thursday 03 March and continues to Tuesday 05 April

The class explores spatial activation, an eclectic movement vocabulary, set and improvised material within a continuous movement field. Classes are fast paced; emphasizing the expansion of the moving body in space, improved mobility, speed, coordination and kinaesthetic orientation. Movement classes may include work with objects, partnered bodywork, specific stretching and relaxation exercises focused on breathing, alignment and contact.
MB: muscle - bone, mind - body, a fast paced, physically rigorous training method from the Body Weather Laboratory, structured to experience full expansion of the body in space.
Mau Rakau: traditional Maori martial arts training with a short and/or long wooden staff to improve mobility, speed, hand-eye coordination and the spatial orientation of objects to extend body architecture.
Applied Martial Arts: one on one-mobility exercises from martial arts that encourage contact, sensory exchange and speed training. Two aspects of the partnering detail attack and defense - agitation and annoyance.
The objective of the training is to facilitate communal space, promote health, performance, art and culture.
